Is Questioning the Bible a Sign of Weak Faith?

Many of us have been told, directly or indirectly, that questioning the Bible—or even our faith—shows a lack of trust. We’re taught that having doubts is dangerous. But the truth is, questioning isn’t a sign of weak faith. It’s a sign of engagement.

Let’s take a step back and look at the Bible itself. It’s filled with people who asked hard questions:

  • Job cried out to God in confusion and frustration.

  • David, in the Psalms, often asked, “Why have You forsaken me?”

  • Even Jesus asked, “My God, why have You forsaken me?” on the cross.

These are not moments of rebellion. They’re moments of honesty. Faith doesn’t mean pretending to have all the answers. Real faith allows space for not knowing. It invites curiosity. It allows you to sit with tension and still choose to keep going.

So why do questions matter?

Because they lead us to deeper understanding. They help us separate tradition from truth. They open the door to conversation—not just with others, but with ourselves and with God.

Instead of seeing questions as threats, what if we saw them as tools?

If you’ve ever felt guilty for asking, “Does this really make sense?”, you’re not alone. And you're not wrong for wondering. Here, we believe every question is valid—and every honest seeker belongs.
